Hey Moms and Dads,
A healthy start to a day, is a healthy start to life! However, discipline of any kind takes effort. Come let us look at few simple activities done daily that can help us achieve health and happiness and great habits! Also, let us try making them fun and easy for our little ones to follow:

  1. Sleep on time – Ensure that your child sleeps on time to get a minimum of 8 – 9 hours of sleep every day.
  2. Wake up early – What about an early morning walk for the entire family together? -Most kids do not like waking up early, add to it they find their families very busy to make their grumpy mood any better. But if all the family members decide to go on a small walk together each morning, it might serve as a motivation for all kids. They get extra play time each morning.
  3. Brushing teeth – Let’s see ‘who brushes their teeth first and better’ game each morning is a good and fun way to start the day.
  4. Hygienic and disciplined washroom practices – Talking about the ‘steps of toileting’ with your child is very important. Explain how hygiene should be maintained inside and outside the washroom and how it helps us be germ free and disease free.
  5. Exercise – No one can deny the benefits of morning exercise. Child are energetic; they are very active and always ready to play. Let us make sure that we are engaging them enough in some kind of exercise or physical activity where they are either playing some sport, doing yoga, cycling or going for a jog.
  6. Bathing – Bathing is an important aspect of keeping our body clean and free of diseases and germs. Well, most children are not at all fussy about taking a bath. But if we have children who do not like taking baths, introduce some fun elements like toys, or water gun. Or children never say no to stories, use that time to tell a story and talk about the importance of bathing. For example – There was a duck who used to hate taking bath, he stayed days without having a bath. Nobody wanted to be his friend as he would stink a lot. He cried and asked his mother why nobody wants to be my friend. His mother told him, if you want to make friends… go take a shower, clean yourself and wear clean clothes. The duck followed whatever his mom said and yay!!! He made so many friends. Also do you know that if you don’t take a bath daily, we will fall sick?
  7. Breakfast – Undoubtedly, the most important meal of the day – encourage kids to have healthy and complete breakfasts and set an example by doing so yourself!

These may be tiny little steps, but will change the way your kids look at health and hygiene in a fun and exciting way! Don’t be surprised if they ask you to follow some more healthy practices soon!
